HOME > What is NDI

Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) is the examination techniques used to detect internal or external imperfections anddeterioration without destroying or damaging materials and components. NDI techniques are used as an important way of quality control and cost-effectiveness which benefits to the community for its safety of atomic plants, railways, airplanes, bridges, buildings, underground objects, etc. The ways of inspections are Visual Testing, Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Eddy Current Testing and Strain Measurement, etc. In recent years, Acoustic Emission and Thermography became used as new ways of inspection. NDI techniques will become more significant in the future for saving resources and protecting environment for long term use of materials and components effectively.
